INDIAN SOCIETY OF VICTIMOLOGY |
(A) Professor K. Chockalingam Award
- The highest award of the ISV is presented in honour of Professor K. Chockalingam. The award carries a plaque, a certificate, and a citation.
- The award is presented every two years to an individual (academic/practitioner) for their significant contribution to the field of Victimology in India.
- Members of the ISV can send nominations in writing, providing complete details of the achievement/contribution made by the nominee to the General Secretary of the ISV. Self-nominations will NOT be accepted.
- The nominee for this award should not hold office or position in the management of the ISV during the period of nomination.
- The General Secretary will place all nominations received (within the stipulated deadline) before the Awards Committee, constituted by the Executive Committee of the ISV.
- The recommendations of the Awards Committee may be approved by the Executive Committee of the ISV. The decision of the Executive Committee will be FINAL.
- The Awardee will be intimated of the decision of the Executive Committee of the ISV and he/she will be requested to receive the award during the inaugural function of the Biennial Conference of the ISV.
- If the Awards Committee feels that there is none in its wisdom deserving of the award in a given year, the Committee has the right to decide accordingly.
(B) Fellowship Award
- This award is given to individuals in recognition of their significant contribution to the growth and development of the ISV.
- Members of the ISV can send nominations in writing, providing complete details of the achievement/contribution made by the nominee to the General Secretary of the ISV.
- Self-nominations are NOT accepted.
- The Executive Committee of the ISV will decide upon the Awardee(s).
- The award will be signed by the President and General Secretary of the ISV.
(C) ISV Best Research Paper Award
- This award will be presented to a researcher below the age of 30 for his/her original research in the field of Victimology.
- The research paper should be the outcome of an original empirical research on a subject of recent relevance in victimology and victim assistance.
- A participant can only send one paper for consideration. For practical reasons, papers with joint authorship will not be permitted.
- Papers should be in Times New Roman font, 12 point with double line spacing, leaving margin space on all sides. Name of the author should be provided on a separate page.
- The author of the paper should submit a bonafide certificate from the institution where he/she is studying. The working author should also submit a Declaration that the research is an original piece of work done by him/her and does not form a part of a thesis/dissertation for the award of any degree/diploma or anyother award or prize.
- An Expert Committee will review and shortlist papers. The shortlisted contestants will have to present their paper during the ISV Best Research Paper Award Session before the Expert Committee, following which the winner will be decided and presented with the award.
- The contestants of the ISV Best Research Paper Award should email their papers to the General Secretary at [email protected] on or before 20th September 2022.
